On 27th September Kontomatik sp. z o.o was listed into the register of AISP kept by Polish Financial Supervision Authority. This is the first authorization granted for AISP obtained in Poland. According to the PSD2 directive, the license enables provision of payment services for customers within the European Union.
This is not the first license obtained by Kontomatik. In December 2018 Kontomatik UAB, a subsidiary of the leading Polish fintech company Kontomatik Sp. z o.o., received the account information service provider status from the Bank of Lithuania, which now is passported in 10 European Union member states.
"The license granted by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority is a confirmation of trust in services provided by Kontomatik. To be able to obtain the license we had to meet a number of the restrictive requirements set by the KNF. At the moment, our priority is to take full advantage of the business potential offered by the license." Patryk Pietrzak, Board Member, Kontomatik
According to the PSD2, AISPs can access payment accounts and transaction data of banks’ clients. Based on this, Kontomatik will be able to provide other financial institutions with services based on the analysis and processing of these data. However, access to the banking data via the API will only be possible after the explicit consent of the consumer. Data can then be categorized and grouped, while additional data analysis using Machine Learning technology enables financial institutions to easily build consumers’ financial behavior profiles. These profiles can be used as one element of credit scoring which facilitates the automation of the credit decision process.
The register is available on the KNF site
