In the digital era, automated invoicing and financial management systems have become a market standard. Fakturownia – operating in Poland – and its sister platform in the Czech Republic, BitFaktura, are excellent examples of modern SaaS platforms that support entrepreneurs in their day-to-day financial and accounting tasks.
In practice, they represent the same system, available under different names and domains tailored to the specifics of individual markets and language versions. Both are products of Fakturownia sp. z o.o., headquartered in Warsaw.
These platforms enable convenient invoice generation, inventory management, online payments, as well as integrations with e-commerce systems and – in the case of the Polish market – with the National e-Invoice System (KSeF).
Both Fakturownia and BitFaktura also offer the "Connection to Bank Account" service, delivered in partnership with Kontomatik. This solution allows for secure connection to a bank account, automatic transaction import, balance preview, and automatic matching of payments to issued invoices.
How It All Started – A Market-Driven Need
In the accounting industry, more and more companies are embracing automation to streamline and accelerate daily operations. The trend is clear: the market also expects automation in the areas of finance and payments.
Talks about introducing the Kontomatik service in the Czech market started before its integration into Fakturownia in Poland:
"We started exploring this topic four years ago. At the time of implementation in the Czech Republic, we were one of the last systems without this type of solution. Clients asked about it very frequently," emphasizes Barbara Chudárková, Managing Director of the Czech BitFaktura.
In Poland, the main driver for action was the growing competition.
For a long time, bank data import in Fakturownia was handled manually – users had to download CSV files directly from their banks. The need for an automated solution had been repeatedly requested by users over several years.
It’s worth noting that the Czech market also offers other solutions that automate the flow of information – for example, systems that send payment notifications to email addresses. While such functionalities are now less commonly used in Poland, they remain quite popular and widely available in the Czech Republic.
However, for the Fakturownia team, it was essential that the solution implemented in the Czech market would mirror – 1:1 – the system already in place in Poland.
